Choose From Our Wide Selection of Garden Plants
A Few Favorite Garden Plants...
At Morgan Avenue Greenhouses, we pride ourselves on the ability to grow a variety of strong, healthy garden plants. Below we have listed a few of our favorites to recommend for growers of all experiences.
Our famous geraniums have been our best-selling annual for decades. They are generally easy to care for compared to other plants, and can withstand the unpredictable Wisconsin summer weather. Geraniums require a sunny spot of your garden to produce growth, but will also tolerate a partly-sunny area. They need day temperatures of over 65 degrees and nightly temperatures over 50, so wait until the threat of frost is gone before planting. Watering should occur once soil begins to dry (at least weekly). Deadheading regularly will also encourage growth of new buds.
Begonias remain our favorite plant to recommend for new growers, unusual areas of the garden, north-facing walls, and forgetful waterers. They are one of our toughest varieties, and can handle many different living conditions. Like geraniums, it is best not to plant until the thread of frost has passed. Our begonias grow well in nearly all spots of the garden, just water when the soil is a bit dry!
